another dip into the long lost rolls of film! this roll was a total mystery until i got it processed at The Darkroom last month. as if i were traveling through time itself, these images brought back a flood of memories from that trip to Cadaqués six years ago. this is one of the most beautiful places i have ever visited and i must go back and stay awhile as soon as i am able. considering how much i love shooting in color, i appreciate the choice i made to shoot black and white for these photographs.

another round of film
been shooting a lot more lately, even dusted off the ol’ hasselblad thanks to these rolls of film. the more i process, the more excited i am about every shot i take. working on a lot of personal projects as well as a photo essay that i am contributing!! it’s scary / exciting and i need to just let go of my perfectionism, embrace whatever happens, and jump in.

desert daze
at last, a few of my favorite images from desert daze this past october. i shot these with my trusty lil’ holga 120s and kodak portra 160 film. in hindsight, because i am always trying to improve / experiment with techniques, i should have brought a second camera for lower light conditions. i lost a few shots where i didn’t have enough light, but the ones i got are pretty awesome. see more from desert daze and twentynine palms here! ❤

rediscovered photography
this spring, i started to process some old, forgotten rolls of film that had been laying around gathering dust. so far, i’ve sent out 9 “mystery rolls” to be processed (thanks to The Darkroom) — all medium format film that i shot with my beloved hasselblad 500cm in 2011/2012 so far.
it’s been…a lot to experience. memories i had hidden away, travels i forgot about completely, etc. it is all part of a bigger idea, a show i want to put together of my photography work over the last 15 years. oh, the secrets that lie ahead in rolls of film i have yet to process! just a couple of weeks ago, i found proof sheets for 4 rolls of film from 2011 that i shot and forgot. needless to say, there will be a lot of those to show in the days and weeks to come. i’ll have prints available soon and hopefully i can get this website finished before the end of the year, too.
here goes nothin!
